Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is the popular engineering entrance exam in India. JEE main is conducted to offer admissions to interested candidates in undergraduate engineering programmes. JEE Main offer candidates are admitted to NITs(National Institutes of Technology), CFTIs(centrally funded technical institutions), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and other engineering institutions which located across the country. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has notified following two changes in the JEE pattern from 2017:
- There shall be no weightage for the 12thclass marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination,
- For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12thclass examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

Eligibility Criteria of JEE main exam 2018:
Aspirant must have passed 12th examination for JEE Main 2018.
Aspirant must have passed in science background and must have physics & mathematics as compulsory subjects.
For General student should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination and For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
Only 2016 and 2017 appeared and passed higher secondary student are also eligible to apply and 2018th final year student can also fill up the JEE Main application form.
Diploma holders will be eligible for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not eligible for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.
Candidates, who born on or after 1st October 1993 are eligible for this exam.
SC/ST and PWD candidates relaxation 5 years in upper age limit (i.e. DOB falls on or after 1st October 1988).
Date of Birth will be granted as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.

Aspirant can attempts total 3 times for this exam.

Admit Card of JEE Main 2018:
CBSC will release the admit card through online mode.
After submitting the application form, candidates start searching the admit card. JEE Main 2018 admit card will be issued in the second week of March 2018.
Admit card will contain exam schedule, exam centre details, candidate’s roll number, etc.
The board has also provide the facility to book slot for the online mode examination
